London, August 2013: Jim Fitzpatrick, MP for Poplar and Limehouse and Shadow Minister for Transport, spent two days at TNT Post as part of the completion of his Fellowship with the Industry and Parliament Trust.
The Industry and Parliament Trust is a UK-based educational charity seeking to develop a greater understanding between businesses and law-makers.
During his visit, Mr Fitzpatrick was given an overview of TNT Post’s strategy by CEO Nick Wells, followed by detailed presentations in all areas of the business. The afternoon saw Mr Fitzpatrick have a tour of the company’s Iver depot, where he saw mail and parcel sortation in action.

The second part of Mr Fitzpatrick’s visit involved the MP touring the TNT Post Victoria Delivery Unit. Following an explanation of the delivery process by Gary Robinson, Director of End-to-End, Mr Fitzpatrick met with Community trade union members and completed a delivery round with a local Postie. TNT Post has created over 1000 jobs since it commenced its mail delivery service in April 2012, and most recently expanded in to South West London.

Following the visit, Jim Fitzpatrick MP said:

“It has been thoroughly rewarding to observe the operations of TNT Post. TNT Post is creating hundreds of jobs in the capital and as the company continues to expand I have every confidence it will provide many new jobs across the UK. ”

Nick Wells, CEO TNT Post UK, said:

“We are very pleased that Mr Fitzpatrick was able to visit TNT Post whilst he completed his fellowship with the IPT. We are delighted to play a role in building a greater understanding of business amongst Parliamentarians.”
