TNT Post has launched ‘Action Now’ which enables smart phone users to make an instant purchase or a donation. It provides a new way for retailers to transact with customers and for charities to take donations from the general public.
Action Now uses a short URL or a unique QR code which can be placed on all marketing materials, including social media platforms. It tracks the interaction journey of the user and can be accessed via a smart phone, PC or tablet.
For charities, Action Now has been tailored to maximise impulse donations with an instant checkout facility. In 3 simple steps, a donor can make a donation to a charity. A donor simply scans the code (or visits a URL), views the charities response page and makes a donation to the charity’s appeal. The actual donation is made via PayPal, therefore the transaction and data is fully secure. Action Now is also fully compliant with Gift Aid.
In the charity sector, over the past three years, there has been a decline in regular giving, such as a monthly donation, and a fall in the number of people donating to charity. Action Now addresses this concerning donation trend.
Retailers can also use Action Now in the same way to enable customers to make a purchase via PayPal which can be paid in 24 different currencies.
Using the Action Now web portal, charities and retailers can generate their QR code or a short URL, design their campaign response page and publish their code or short URL across all existing marketing materials both offline and online.
Action Now campaigns are fully measurable. Charities can track the number of QR code scans, number of visits to response page, view live and up-to-date donations and the contact information of the donor. The analytical data generated from Action Now campaigns enables charities to better understand their customers and increase ROI on their marketing campaigns.
An analysis of TNT Post’s wide charity client base has shown who the most generous donors are, at a national, regional, city and town level. This will allow charities to identify and target the most potentially generous donors, reducing waste on marketing spend while increasing the ROI. The research below shows that on a national level, Scotland is the most generous region in the UK, with a further regional analysis revealing the varying levels of donations within Scotland itself.
Mark Davies, Managing Director TNT Post Door Drop Media, said: “Our Action Now initiative combines modern technology with traditional direct marketing media. This innovative means of geographical targeting will increase the likelihood of donations for charities. The marketing industry will welcome a new service that further improves targeting combined with a low cost solution that will deliver results.
“Creative is never more powerful than when it is in the hands of the recipient. Now for the first time, we can harness that zero moment of truth facilitated by the scan of a QR code on a smart phone or tablet. Action Now ensures that users are able to donate to a good cause simply, inexpensively and securely, in a matter of seconds.”
