Baroness Margaret Prosser has visited TNT Post UK’s Victoria delivery unit and praised the company for successfully implementing schemes to get the long term unemployed back in to work.

The Baroness was also able to participate in an awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of individual Posties who have excelled in the company.

TNT Post, the UK’s largest private postal company, has been operating its End-to-End delivery service in West London since April 2012. Investing in the latest letter-scanning technology, it has provided a tracked service to thousands of London households and businesses.

Baroness Prosser, a previous member of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Chair of the Women and Work Commission and Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, commended TNT Post for providing an excellent service, in addition to recognising its dedication to creating jobs for the young and long-term unemployed.

Following the visit, Baroness Prosser said:

“TNT Post has been delivering mail successfully to many London households for nearly a year. It is great to see companies like TNT Post providing jobs for a host of different people. During tough economic times, finding employment can be hard, so it is great to see so many people at TNT Post enjoying their jobs and learning and progressing in a stimulating environment.”

Nick Wells, CEO of TNT Post UK, commented:

“We are delighted that Baroness Prosser has taken the time to come to Victoria and meet our Posties. The Victoria delivery unit is incredibly busy, and we hope that the success of the business here will spread to other parts of the city and beyond. TNT Post is committed to providing jobs and skills to those that need them the most.”
