Starting today, the residents of Liverpool will see TNT Posties on bicycles delivering mail to households and businesses in the L postcode, as it becomes the latest location of our end-to-end delivery service.

The service operates alongside the traditional Royal Mail postal delivery service but with a slight difference. Our Posties are able to scan every letter that is delivered using our track and trace service, giving businesses reassurance that their mail has been delivered.

Whilst we expand our service across the country, the number of job opportunities to the area is growing, as we hire 500 Posties to join the end-to-end team.

Liverpool was chosen as our next destination because of the positive approach the City had in welcoming inward investment and the help it gave in targeting the jobs at the hard to reach youth and long term unemployed that helped us make our decision. From the 500 roles that were available, we worked with Liverpool City Council to develop a Pre-Employment Training course which saw over 170 candidates establish their suitability for the role of a Postie.  

Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson said: “I am delighted that TNT Post has chosen Liverpool as the latest location for their delivery service. Together with our partners, we worked really hard with them to help target and recruit people with the right skills. I keep saying that Liverpool is open for business, and we are now having real success in attracting high quality firms delivering substantial numbers of jobs.”

This service is already live in London and Manchester and within less than two years we have hired a total of 3,000 people. Within each area we have managed to help provide opportunities to local job seekers who have found it hard to get back into employment. The flexibility of the roles have been appealing for women returning to work, second jobbers, those balancing childcare commitments and school/college leavers.

We’re not just providing work for new employees but also helping them develop their skills which will help them to progress further in their career. Our Area Delivery Manager, Mike Rigby, is a prime example of how we have helped our employees build careers.
