Today we are pleased to announce that we are expanding our End-to-End delivery service into North West London and Harrow, doubling the size of our London workforce to a total of 2000 Posties.

Our End-to-End service currently operates a mail delivery service to businesses and consumers in Central, West and South West London from 12 delivery units. It operates alongside the traditional Royal Mail delivery service but will now consist of a TNT Post Postie delivering mail to consumers by bicycles. The operation also uses a track and trace service to the door, which involves every letter being scanned on delivery.  

The expansion will see us delivering to around 400,000 households and to support this we are creating jobs for 400 new Posties and will have 4 new delivery units in Camden, Willesden, Colindale and Harrow.

Since the very start of our End-to-End service in 2012, we have focused on creating opportunities for the youth and long term unemployed. With our Postie roles providing flexible hours, the jobs have been very appealing for local residents, including those balancing childcare commitments, second jobbers and school/college leavers.

We run our own Pre-Employment Training course to establish a candidate’s suitability for a role and in particular in North West London we have worked with Job Centre Plus and Ingeus to fulfil roles.

And it’s not just us that are pleased about the expansion, Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has also commented on the news

I am particularly pleased to hear that their new posties will rely solely on pedal power to deliver their letters and look forward to seeing them on the streets of the capital.”
