TNT Post UK Ltd have been operating within the postal industry for almost a decade now, collecting, sorting and transporting business mail and packages.  Not only do we help our customers with data, document management and fulfilment, but also from innovative flexible mail services that offer both efficiency improvements and cost savings.

In 2012, we took the next step and started delivering business mail to their customers - the good old fashioned way, by posting it through their letterbox.  This new service, called End-to End or E2E, is complimentary to our historical work in sortation, but for some it can be a little confusing understanding the differences between the two.

So, we have two services for businesses, which can be confusing to people on first acquaintance – so here’s a quick guide to understanding how we sort mail and deliver it.

Down Stream Access

Down Stream Access or DSA, is the process in which Royal Mail complete the final delivery stage of your mailed items.  We collect your post from your premises and take them to one of our seven depots situated around the UK – usually the closest to your location.

When your mail arrives at the depot, a combination of automation and hand sorting filters it all down by location, size and service.  Sorted mail is then sent to Royal Mail where their Postmen will complete the final part of the delivery process and drop it through your letterbox.

It’s as simple as that!

End-to-End

Our end-to-end process is even less complicated.  We start the process the same as DSA but once the mail has been sorted, we then send any mail we deliver to either Manchester or specific London regions to one of our delivery units.

Here, our team of Posties organise the mail in preparation for delivery.  Each Postie carefully checks the mail for their rounds  and prepares it in route order.

Once a Postie is ready to get going, they will load up their mail bags and ensure they equip themselves with a handheld scanner to record each item being delivered as it goes through a letterbox - allowing us to track each mail item right to the door.

And yet again, it’s as simple as that!

We hope that this brief description has helped you to understand the process better, but if you do have any questions or would like to find out more then please get in touch with us.
