Michelle Brightman has been with TNT Post UK for 5 years now and is the Depot Manager at our Iver Depot. Her role includes managing the four Iver sites which consists of a total of 230 staff across DSA (Down Stream Access) and E2E (End-to-End).
We caught up with Michelle to ask her a few questions about herself and her job role…
1) Tell us a bit about yourself
I was born in London with my two sisters and brother. With one of my sisters as a Policewoman, the other working in a bank and my brother as a mechanic, we are all workaholics, it runs in our family.
I now live in Andover with my partner and my Labrador dog, who I have had for ten years. The Iver Depot is open 364 days a year which can be demanding on my time, so I enjoy any spare time that I have and like to spend it with family and friends.
2) As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?
I remember I wanted to be either a Policewoman or a Social Worker, so I would be able to make a difference. With the role that I am in now I get to be both.
3) How long have you been at TNT Post UK?
5 Years now
4) What have been your highlights at TNT Post UK?
It would have to be winning trophies for Best Improved Depot 2 years running; one for Bristol in 2011 and another for Iver in 2012. Also, I am proud of being apart of our E2E history, knowing that it began at our Iver Depot.
5) List three words you would use to describe yourself
Passionate - Workaholic - Motivator
6) What has been your proudest achievement?
Passing my Driver CPC training. I was the only Manager out of 80 that passed the course first time.
7) What do you enjoy the most about your job role?
Creating a clear path for the staff and Depot whilst communicating and engaging with my Team, involving them all in everything and delivering on the results whilst having fun. I also enjoy seeing the innovation & development of my Team, watching them grow in strength each year and taking Iver Depot to the next required level.
8) If you were stranded on a desert island, name one person and two items that you would want with you
I would want to have a flint so that I can make fire to cook food, and it can also be used to make a signal fire when necessary. Fishing Rod and Tackle so that I can catch fish, and I would want Stu Kowalski with me as he was trapped on an island for 25 years and survived.
Thank you Michelle for your time today and well done on passing your Driver CPC training first time!
