When you think of a postie, what do you see?

Postman Pat and his black and white cat buzzing around Greendale? Cliff Clavin from the NBC series Cheers? Allan Smethurst, Norfolk's singing mailman?

Quite possibly, it’s a mixture of all of the above.

However, if you’ve been out and about on the streets of London recently, you’ve likely witnessed a very different style of postie to add to that list …

… TNT Posties.

Since April 2012, we’ve been providing an end-to-end delivery service – which includes collecting, sorting and delivering post – with the help of our dedicated posties and innovative track and trace technology designed to improve delivery efficiency.

However, our posties offer much more than just their delivery expertise. Instead, they’re brand ambassadors who thrive in their roles by always going the extra mile.

Take the case of Jayne Stephenson, 51, who returned to work despite the commitment of caring for several grandchildren. Given the flexibility of her hours, Jayne is able to juggle work and family time. 
The independence, team work and sociability of the role appeal to Jayne most.  With two regular rounds each week, she often bumps in to the same people and as a result, has formed relationships with shopkeepers and home owners

“I like getting to know the community and being able to give something back,” she reflects.  “I helped an old man carry his shopping up three flights of stairs recently.  It’s the little things that are the most rewarding.”
 
Jayne recently gave an inspirational presentation to over 150 unemployed people in Manchester to highlight the opportunities available with TNT Post.

“I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s a totally different experience to your average desk job, and the opportunities get bigger and better as you move forward with the company.”  Says Jayne.

It’s not only our posties who are our brand ambassadors, our Delivery Unit Managers and Team Leaders also assist and support our posties in doing the best job that they can do.  Many of them building up to these roles after starting off as a postie.  After gaining experience as a postie, they are inspired to work hard and develop their careers with TNT Post. 

Our posties have the opportunity to become buddies, cycle trainers and Team Leaders so that they can continue to build their skill set to support them in their career and for later on in life.
