On Sunday 29th June the Ride for the 96 event took place, where people join together in a 96Km bike ride in memory of the Liverpool supporters who tragically died at Hillsborough.

Taking part were Piotr Siewruk, William O'Prey and Anthony Lancaster from our Edge Hill Delivery Unit who completed the event on their distinctive work bikes, ably supported by their colleague Imran Miah who assisted with the transportation of the bikes.

Despite the rather obvious handicap of riding bicycles weighing over 20 kilos, not being remotely sporty and only having three gears, with the sun shining the trio were soon pedalling their way from the Sutton Leisure Centre in St. Helens, visiting various points around the Merseyside area before heading back to the Start.

The ride raised over £2,500 for a variety of good causes including the Alzheimer’s Society and the Steven Gerrard Foundation.
